Get hundreds of organic visitors in a week. https://www.ingbase.com/blogging/importance-writing-current-event-hundreds-organic-visitors-week/ https://www.ingbase.com/blogging/importance-writing-current-event-hundreds-organic-visitors-week/#comments Wed, 21 Sep 2011 10:56:43 +0000 ingbase.com https://www.ingbase.com/?p=172710 I work in an online advertising company during day time and whenever something big is going to happen like a weather forecast of a coming hurricane, then we are informed about the possible spike in traffic on some of the news related publishers so that we better optimize the advertising campaigns on those websites to give them higher rates.

So there you go, i just spilled the beans here. I am not going to reveal where i work or the names of those publishers obviously, but i am going to tell you my experience with this.

A year back back i was meditating one fine evening and i was totally calm and focused. And then, i felt a slight tremor. It was a small earthquake. My laptop was on and i was already logged in then, so i quickly wrote about it on my blog. I used keywords like earthquake and the place where i felt it, which was the city i used to live in then and the time of the earthquake and made a good long title out of it for that post.

Believe me, i am sure i was the first guy in the whole world to put that event online since it was so like a real time update. The next day when i checked the website statistics i saw tens of search terms related to the earthquake in our city. That post appeared first on google for several terms related to the earthquake in that city. And the following week gave hundreds of organic visitors to that blog post.

It totally works, now i know that people tend to search online for more information about such broad events.

Next time i get a chance to write about a real time event, i am going to try adding photos and videos if possible which might increase the chances of the post being shared socially.

Optimizing Blog Post Titles to Increase Organic Traffic https://www.ingbase.com/monetizing/optimizing-blog-post-titles-increase-organic-traffic/ https://www.ingbase.com/monetizing/optimizing-blog-post-titles-increase-organic-traffic/#comments Mon, 22 Nov 2010 12:43:49 +0000 ingbase.com https://www.ingbase.com/?p=1402 Titles are the most important part of your blog posts. This post is based on the earlier post: Writing SEO content to increase organic traffic. Many search engines consider titles of the post to display results on their results page.

Therefore, writing search engine optimized titles can help your website get organic traffic. When a blog is new it has low readership due to its less reach. Hence at first, what you write does matter. Doing a good keyword research through Google insights can help you find the trending keywords on internet.

Some of the other tools to use are:-

Once you find the keyword that you want to get organic traffic on, simply make use of it in framing the titles for your blog posts. Use long tail keywords in the title and use it consistently throughout the rest of the post.

I have been trying this and i have seen a significant improvement in organic traffic.

Avoid keyword stuffing. you wouldn’t want to use keyword repeatedly just for the sake of gaining organic traffic and better rankings. This common method has become quite old and is no longer safe to use.

Use SEO Slugs WordPress Plugin

SEO Slugs is a wordpress plugin that will frame an optimized permalink for the post. It removes common words like ‘a’, ‘the’, ‘in’ from post slugs to improve search engine optimization.

Download SEO Slugs

It is necessary to use the most out of titles which are given a lot of focus by search engines. Using maximum, yet relevant keywords in the title and at the same time making a total sense out of it can significantly improve organic traffic.

5 Things to Check before Buying an Established Website https://www.ingbase.com/webmasters/5-check-buying-established-website/ https://www.ingbase.com/webmasters/5-check-buying-established-website/#comments Sun, 21 Nov 2010 09:40:21 +0000 ingbase.com https://www.ingbase.com/?p=1396 Many bloggers buy or sell an established website in order to improve their income. Here is a simple guide to follow before making a purchase to make sure you get better returns on investment.

Many buyers would not go so strict on evaluating the website before buying because it all depends on the way they are going to promote it and the how much potential they see in it.

If you have a solid strategy to promote the website or have your own ideas of using the website content then its better only to focus on the basic 5 aspects of the website.

Website Content

Check if the website is not using any article spinners or auto blogging software for content. While these methods of content generation might be beneficial for some owners, unless you have better ways of working it out, avoid going with it. The site should have enough original content at first place.

Indexed Pages

If there is enough original content then the chances are that the pages are well indexed by the search engines. Check the number of indexed pages on top search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. Google will most probably have more indexed pages as compared to Yahoo and followed by Bing but that depends on how good the website is.

Organic Traffic

If more pages are indexed then the chances are the website is getting more organic traffic. Organic traffic is the best type of traffic because the visitors here are highly targeted.

Organic traffic is simply the traffic that your website gets from search engines for several keywords.

Website Traffic

Website traffic is again an important thing to check before buying a website. Besides organic traffic there can be several other sources of traffic. Back links from other websites and social communities can add to that extra traffic.

Some websites can be dead with almost negligible amount of traffic. Many website owners tend to sell their website when they feel they can’t work it out. If you have a better concept for using the content then you can neglect the traffic. That can depend on marketing strategies for the new website.

Income Proof

Income Proof is the basic thing that buyers look for. The website should at least have a good source of income.

The sources can be

  • PPC Advertising
  • Affiliate Networks
  • CPM based Advertising or
  • Flat Rate Direct Advertising on Website

Income proof can be the monthly reports from current or for past few months from PPC advertising or Affiliate Networks. These can be provided in screen shot so if you are satisfied with the earnings, you can buy the website.

But if the website is earning more per month, then its price might be higher as well.
