So i thought of transferring the post on this blog with traffic redirection.

To make sure that your computer is clean and free from unwanted cookies, worms, trojans, adwares & spyware, the least and the most basic things that you can do is to perform the following two steps.

I use Quick Heal Total Security to protect my computer and here are the things i noticed while it kept defending my PC.

  1. With a high speed cable internet connection, the computer is immune to almost all the virus, trojans and worms and other malicious software. You probably surf so many websites with pop up ads that you won’t know when your computer might get affected by adware or spyware.
  2. The first place for the Trojans, whenever they affect a computer is “Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5″. Most of the Trojan Downloaders, worm and other malicious programs can be found in this folder. I got to know this from the antivirus software that i used. It showed that path whenever anything harmful was detected on my computer.
  3. The cookies folder can also keep harmful adwares and high priority tracking cookies that can track all your internet activities including your personal information like credit card details and passwords.

Perform the following simple steps. They are pretty simple and probably most commonly used methods these days.

Step one.

Right click on the task bar of your computer – click on properties – then a window with a title “Task Bar and Start Menu Properties” will appear on the screen, on that – click on Start Menu tab – click on the Customize button – then a window with a title “Customize Start Menu” will appear, on that – click the button “Clear List” – then go to the other tab which says “Advanced”, on that – click the button “Clear List” – Then click on OK buttons on both the windows to close it. Both will delete all recently browsed files and cookies from your computer.

Step two.

  1. Click on Start Menu – click on run – In the text field type %temp% and click the button Open.
  2. A window will open containing a lot of files of different formats. Select all files by pressing “Ctrl + A” and delete all by pressing “Shift + delete” buttons.
  3. Then go back by simply clicking “backspace” button on your keyboard.
  4. There you will find a folder “Temporary Internet Files”. Double click on it and go inside that folder and there you will find one more folder “Content.IE5″. In that folder you will find many sub folders, these sub folders might contain Trojans or other malicious programs unless you are using update Anti Virus. Delete all by pressing “Shift + Del” buttons.

Now you have cleared most of the unwanted things from your computer that may harm to your computer. You even freed a lot of space from your C Drive.

Firewall and Anti virus

You must have an updated anti virus software and a firewall. Keep it on Auto Update mode and let it update itself when the server updates their virus database. That can help you protect your computer against latest virus threats. Firewall can also protect your computer from hackers trying to get an access and use your resources.

Unblock an IP Address from Quick Heal Firewall Pro https://www.ingbase.com/webmasters/unblock-ip-address-quick-heal-firewall-pro/ https://www.ingbase.com/webmasters/unblock-ip-address-quick-heal-firewall-pro/#comments Sat, 27 Nov 2010 06:04:44 +0000 ingbase.com https://www.ingbase.com/?p=1608 Today i could no longer access Google websites or any services that are related to Google website. Later, i realized that my Firewall was actually blocking the computer from accessing Google server IP.

Whenever i tried accessing Google.com or any websites that uses ReCaptha service from Google, the firewall kept popping up message on task bar that it has blocked an IP address.

I had never unblocked an IP address before so after exploring the Quick Heal Firewall Pro interface i finally found out a way to unblock an IP address. Take a look at the steps below.

Step 1:

Click on the Rules Wizard on the Quick Heal Firewall frong interface.

Simply select the IP address that you want to unblock and click on the Remove button on the right hand side. Click Apply and Ok button at the bottom for all the open windows and exit to Firewall Interface.

That should let you use the service that you were unable to use.

In my case i accidently happen to block an IP from Google so all the services related to the domain Google were blocked.

Hope this helps.
