Dressing up your dog in a Halloween costume can be fun but very expensive, especially if you are sewing-impaired. But wait! Don’t lose heart! Even if you can’t sew, there are a lot of tips and tricks that can help you to dress up your dog in a beautiful costume. Given below are 5 ideas to make creative Halloween costumes for dogs:
1. Little Red Riding Hood – This is one of the easiest costumes to assemble and sew. You don’t need exceptional sewing skills. If you can cut and paste, then you will have a Little Red Riding Hood Halloween Costume in no time at all.
You will need one yard of red flannel or felt, red ribbon, scissors and glue to paste the ribbon.
Draw a cape and hood to the flannel and cut it. Paste the red ribbon to the neck of the costume and it is ready.
2. Vampire – This is a perfect costume for your dog since it already has the sharp canine teeth and the pointed ears that are essential for the costume. All you need now is black silk fabric to cut into a cape. Attach the cape to the collar so that it stays in play. Now make a stand-up collar using cardboard. Paste red silk to the cardboard collar and your pet’s Dracula costume is ready.
3. Rescue Dog – If you have a small dog or a St. Bernard’s, then dressing him as a Rescue Dog is ideal. They look the part so well. For this costume, you will need an empty pop or beer can and a piece of red felt. Strap the beer can to the dog’s collar. Make a waistband with the red felt. Paint a white cross on it and your Rescue Dog is ready.
4. Camel – Dress up your dog as a camel using a pillow. Yes, this is absolutely right. Harness your dog and attach a small pillow to the center of the harness to create the camel’s hump. Use a caramel colored pillow so that you don’t have to paint it.
5. Rapper Dog – The easiest costume to create, all you will need is a number gold medallions and hoodie. Make the hoodie using yogurt lids and the costume is ready.
Some dogs like daschunds and small pups love dressing. For bigger dogs, you may have to coax them with treats to make them stand still while you dress them up. But with some patience, you will be able to get them ready for Halloween. Have fun!

When in rush, I always opt for red riding hood. I just grab my red hoodie and find a dress and basket and off I go..

The ideas are just superb. Not much work involved. The expense will also be less but the result will be just as great as any other costly costume. My kids will be very excited to create costume for our dog. They themselves can make these costume with minimum guidance from my side. They will love doing all the designing work themselves. Will surely try them this Halloween.
Well I cant stitch even if my life depended on it. So these tips are really very helpful for me. My kid wanted to take our dog with him. But never gave it a thought because didn’t have the time or the skill to come up with anything interesting. But these ideas will surely help me a lot. I was thinking of trying the vampire costume its sounds easy.
