1 Disadvantage of using interactive game flash banners for advertising

While surfing on the web i came across a website that had a flash game on it for hitting the target. By now you must have understood that it was a banner ad, but i found it very appealing and interesting to try hitting the targets. What i did not know was that right after 5 target hits it would take me to the advertisers page. Now what did the advertiser get? An invalid click or totally uninterested visitor?

I have seen so many interactive flash banners designed like a game. Its primary intention is to get visitors to notice the ad and to click on them. But whatsoever i would not go for such game kind of flash ads that would give me highly untargeted and uninterested visitors. That could also increase the bounce rate of your website.

What did the advertiser loose?

  1. Cost per click (on multiple clicks)
  2. Increased Bounce Rate

No advertiser need to blame me for playing with their ads and wasting their money because that is what their intention was. So if you are concern with your costs per click and incoming traffic, it is recommended you don’t go with such banners unless you have a gaming related website that can offer the visitor more flash games to play with.

That makes interactive game kind flash banner ads a best ad for flash gaming related websites.
